The house of change has many doors. Which will you open?

This magic carpet rides many
twists & turns.
Here’s learning to fly.

create & destroy

do you hear it?
what do you feel?
Listen. Feel. The rhythm is there.
Unceasing…
If you had just 1 more year to live, what are the 3 most important things that you must not leave undone?
Dare you to do the thing you’re most afraid you’ll die before you do.
just 3 deep breaths

School of Body is a way home.Through many forms of playful, deep and sensitizing embodied inquiry these ways help us remember and truly love the extraordinary homes that we inhabit from birth until death. Each body is incomparable and irreplaceable. Every second of life is met and experienced through the sensory portals and somatic interplay of this body’s conversations
with the world. To feel truly at home and in love with this body, and to become a caring steward of this sovereign experience is the purpose of
School of Body.

The House of Change is not a place.
It is a practice and an invitation to move through existence honoring transformation not as something we do, but as what we are.
Life and death, growth and decay
are not problems to solve but the rhythm we move within.
When we align with this, everything shifts. We work differently. We love differently. We tend to each other from a place of deeper trust rather than control (fear). This is about embodying and creating infinitely adaptive systems, practices, and ways of relating that honor change.
The House of Change is being built by everyone who orients toward it. It may someday have a physical manifestation. It may live in networks and systems and communities.
It is a way to transform what already exists, dismantle what no longer serves, and sprout entirely new ways of being.
As the forms continue to shift
the tenants of the eight-pointed star
—Dignity, Clarity, Devotion, Trust, Wisdom,
Honor, Connection, and Love—
guides this work.
This is a compass.
It is a way of orienting through constant upheaval.
It is always available,
and we can begin right now.

Dignity
Respect for life and death. Respect for the dignity of all beings. Respect for the desire of life to relentlessly fulfill itself and for the inevitability of death. Deep listening. Sovereignty. Trust in others to be stewards of their own experience. Emphasis on sharing, and listening rather than over-instructing, creating agency, and supporting choice.Clarity
Truth is the intersection of necessity and specificity. Yet true is only true until the next truth comes along. Clarity is allowing a given truth to take shape and to shape shift—with honesty, and discernment. Seeing things for what they are, while acknowledging all that remains unclear. Seeing the aspects of each. Witnessing the limits of the ‘known’. Recognition, keenness, and specificity. Openness, curiosity, and perceptiveness. Aligning instinct with intuition and information. Respect and curiosity for what is unknown.Devotion
Commitment to beauty, elegance, and artistry in all things. Praise, celebration, and honoring all of existence. Moving with intention and deep devotion for spirit, the cycles of life/death and all aspects of existence. Embodiment, spiritual revelry, erotic enlivening, playfulness and veneration of the body. Relational respect and attunement in many ways to many dynamic forces and relations. Resonance in all forms and situations.Trust
Embodying honor and integrity; honorable in word and deed. Mutual reliance rather than control. Trust in others, collaboration, and allowing the dignity of our differences. Commitment to integrity and clarity. Commitment to practicing moving with the unfolding of situations and circumstances beyond one’s own sphere of influence or understanding. Acceptance of and choice to honor many simultaneous truths.Wisdom
Soft embrace awareness. To seek and to know what is essential. A relaxed rootedness in understanding, both esoteric and earthly. Spaciousness, panoramic view and an orientation towards expansive perspective. Discernment. Savvyness and adeptness in words, deeds, and actions. Weight and levity. To hold and to wear lightly. To pierce mercilessly but gently. To hone oneself and ‘break the world’ of learned perception. To go beyond. To play.Honor
Deep commitment to integrity and the greater good. Commitment to learning and developing skillfulness, reliability, trustworthiness, and virtue. Alignment of word and deed, instinct, intuition, and information. Respectful relations with all beings. Steadfastness in developing and embodying that which enables and fortifies one’s integrity, beauty, commitment and effectiveness.Connection
Honoring relatedness. Congruence with an understanding and acceptance of the connectedness of all things. Allowing ourselves to be known and connected to other beings and that which is beyond the physical. Aligning with, and uplifting connection by seeking to work with rather than against, whenever possible. Recognizing the many aspects and connections present or touching each situation, as well as those distantly connected or inherited into a given situation. Integration.Love
Consideration, respect, and care for all beings. Inclusive, expansive respect and honor for all aspects of existence. Gratitude, revelry and deep enjoyment of this life. Care that extends beyond the boundaries of the individual. Compassion, connection, reverence, and honor for infinite transformation, life and death. Joy, curiosity, play and celebration of infinite possibilities as well as the utter improbability and rarity of our very existence. The kiss of life.

✴︎ The 8-Pointed Star
Daily Devotional Inventory ✴︎
Sit.
One breath per point.
Answer briefly. No performance. Just curiosity.✴︎ Dignity
I honor life, death, and choice.Did I honor my own experience today?Did I allow others the dignity of theirs — without rescuing, ‘fixing’, or shrinking them?Did I listen well? Did I share rather than instruct?✴︎ Clarity
I welcome clarity, even when it is incomplete. What is actually clear right now? What is unknown to me right now?Where did I seek comfort over clarity today?Did I ask questions, or did I fill in the unknown with my own assumptions or narratives? How can I move with greater curiosity?✴︎ Devotion
I move with beauty and intention. What did I move toward with care or artistry today?Did I stay curious and present in my body?Where did I allow reverence, play, or pleasure?✴︎ Trust
I release control and practice integrity.Did my actions and behavior align with my words and intentions?Where did I default to control instead of collaboration? How might I have leaned into trusting others more? What unfolded without my forcing it?✴︎ Wisdom
I seek what is essential. If this day were my last on earth, do I feel that my choices were worthwhile? Are there any amends that I would want to make?Did I respond from reaction or from a wider view?Where did I seek out perspectives beyond what is familiar?Where could I soften and widen my perspective?✴︎ Honor
I align word, instinct, intuition, and action.Did my actions reflect my values?Where did I show up reliably and with respect for all life?Did I strive for peace at any price, silence myself, or avoid clarity? Simultaneously, did I strive to be right at any price, seek to control or dominate others, or not fully consider the impact of my truth on others?Where do I need to repair or recommit?✴︎ Connection
I honor relatedness.Where did I allow myself to be known?Where did I resist, avoid or deny connection? Where did I take connection for granted? What threads are influencing this moment that I might not be seeing?✴︎ Love
Care includes all.Where did I extend tenderness towards myself? Beyond myself?Did I feel gratitude or wonder today, even briefly? What small act of care is possible now?
This is a simple mediation to practice attuning the internal experience with the surrounding environment. There is no time requirement, yet 3 or 9 minutes is a great place to begin.
****Begin this meditation with eyes closed. For the first portion, concentrate the awareness to the internal being and the body, the breath, sensations, the heartbeat.
Continue to redirect the awareness and attention to the sensations within the body.
If your mind begins to wander or thoughts begin to intrude simply redirect awareness to a new sensation, temperature, gravity, pressure, touch.
—or simply return to the heartbeat, or the breath.****Now allow the eyes to gently open, keeping relaxed muscles of the face, relaxed gaze, not fixed.
Allow the gaze to wander the space, taking in everything beyond and around the body, the space and environment, noticing subtle details of texture, color, light, and shadow.
See in a new way, noticing things that were not noticed before.
If the mind begins to chatter, rushing to creating stories, narratives, or labels, to categorize the information,
Simply bring the attention back to something subtle and simple, like light reflecting off of a surface, a color, texture or a tiny microscopic detail. Practice releasing the urge to define or ‘identify’.****For the last portion, Soften the gaze.
Breathe in, sense into the inner body while keeping open awareness to the world around.
Integrate and merge these experiences.
Allow yourself to rest with awareness in both, connected deeply to both, attuned to the internal experience and the emergent relationship with the environment surrounding the body.
Open eyes yet not fixed gaze, internal anchor—the heartbeat, the breath, warmth, yet receptive, open, resonant, not distant from the space and environment.
Relaxed, attuned, available.
